(NCRC-1 NCRC-2) Certified in both level 1 and level 2, Maggie has a tremendous understanding of the recovery process. From personal experience she knows what a long and scary journey it can be. No one has to do this alone. Maggie is there to be your guide. To show you how to live your life again to its fullest, without the need of drugs and/or alcohol. Most will need to learn how to do normal daily activities all over again; Maggie is there to guide. Most importantly, the addict must set goals for themselves and be held accountable for sticking to them in the time frame decided by themselves. Action plans for the immediate and long term future will be created. There is a strong need to understand your emotions during this process and Maggie will help you, through various activities, to learn and understand more about yourself and your own priorities.
Level 2 has trained her to understand both the mental health and criminal aspects that may play a role in the addiction. She is qualified to understand her limits and be able to work with medical professionals as a team to give you the best and safest care as possible. It is important to understand all aspects of ones’ addiction. Maggie has a team of medical professionals, psychiatrists, and psychologists that she can suggest if needed.
Recovery & Addiction Coaching:
Intervention:
(NCIP) The first step to recovery is admitting that there is a problem. In most cases, this is the hardest step. Sometimes it is necessary for family and/or friends to get involved in the process and help give a push into that first step. Maggie is there to guide this process and help the addict find a detox or treatment center and get them to go to it. Maggie will work as a team with the loved ones of the addict to learn about and understand the situation they are facing. As a team, they will help the addict see all that they are missing and how their actions are affecting those around them. Making the addict comfortable is extremely important and at least three options will always be presented to them. Recovery is a long and hard journey; one which needs not be done alone, and the intervention process will help those in need truly see that they are loved and supported. Proper preparation for the loved ones will be done prior to the intervention taking place, as well as preparation for what they might encounter while their loved one is in treatment and when they return from it.
Family Coaching:
(NCFRC) It is important to help the addict get into and stay in recovery, however, it is also necessary for the family and friends of that addict to understand how to manage their lives as well. Many families will need to be prepared on how to handle life once the addict returns from treatment. They will need to understand how their behaviors and emotions affect the addict and how to properly identify with and understand these in order to control them. In many cases the addict is not the only problem that needs to be address; the family will usually find that they have a lot of work they need to do on themselves as well. Maggie has also has personal experience in dealing with a close family member who battled addiction, therefore giving her a first hand knowledge in accordance with her training. The family will need guidance and help along with the addict and their biggest step may be admitting this just like those they are trying to get into recovery.
Life Coaching:
(NCLC) Maybe you don’t have a problem with drugs or alcohol. Maybe you have no addiction at all but just need some guidance in your life. Are you getting enough exercise? Are you eating right? Do you have a healthy balance between work, family, leisure, and your friends? Maggie, as a life coach, can help you learn to be more productive at work, manage your time and money, and better your inter/intra personal relationships. She can help you set your own goals and make sure you stay on track to meeting them. People struggle in all aspects of life and may need guidance to get back on track. What ever you may need help dealing with in your life can be explored and if Maggie is not the best qualified to meet your need then she will find someone who is. You will never leave without help.
Sober Companion/Sober Living:
Sometimes extended stays are necessary to fully help reach the goals that are set. Maggie is available as a sober companion to go to specific events and help you not use. Examples include, birthdays, weddings, business meetings or business functions etc. Sometimes when we are under pressure for work or in a time of celebration with others that do not suffer from addictions, we can lose sight of our goals and our sobriety. If there is any doubt, Maggie is here to accompany you and help to keep you focused on your goal of sobriety. Longer periods of stay can be arranged for sober living, in which Maggie would come live with you and work with you on a 24/7 basis for a period of time pre-arranged. This will happen most times right out of treatment or for those who tend to travel a lot for business. Either case, Maggie will be there with you to keep you focused and to keep your guidance going through the stressful times.
Food Addictions:
(NCFAC) Food addictions can manifest in a variety of different ways. Many drug and/or alcohol addictions will show a secondary food addiction and vice versa. Binging, purging, not eating entirely, poor eating habits, and even an over abundance of time at the gym can all be signs and come in different combinations. They are equally as dangerous and potentially deadly as drug and alcohol addictions and must be addressed. Teaching an addict to understand the attachment between their emotions and their eating habits is paramount. A healthy balance between all aspects of life must be found whether it is the amount of sleep someone is getting, to what they eat (nutrition), going to the gym and even time for relaxing and leisure. As a food addictions coach Maggie can help you find this healthy homeostasis in which you will be able to live life to its fullest and feel happy while doing so. So much of our attitude is connected to our nutrition and health and Maggie has the tools to help you understand and implement this new lifestyle for you.
